Product Review: Adding Tru Niagen to my Daily Routine

As many of you know, this past Spring I started taking care of my body.  Like really taking care of my body.  I began yoga, meditation, daily walking and acupuncture.  I also began eating a gluten-free diet based on a recommendation from my naturopathic doctor.  I have lost 13 pounds -- but more importantly, I feel better than I ever felt in my life!

I also began paying attention to what I was putting in my body in terms of organic foods and quality vitamins & supplements.  When I was presented with the opportunity to try Tru Niagen®, a unique form of vitamin B3 proven to reduce the impact of aging and daily cellular wear & tear, I did my research and jumped at the chance!

Tru Niagen claims to boost the coenzyme NAD+ by 40-50% which can lead to increased energy at the cellular level, healthy aging and cellular repair.  (You can read more about NAD here if you would like). The supplement is backed by Nobel Peace Prize winners as well as 175+ published scientific papers with 13 human studies.  Plus, it’s free of 270 athletic banned substances and harmful contaminants.

But let’s face it, the true test would be how it made me feel!  I picked up the bottle in the vitamin section at my local Walmart and was ready to supercharge my cells! (Just look for the bright blue box.)

I began taking the recommended dose (300mg) once a day, after my morning smoothie.  The first thing I noticed is that I did not get the “flushing” that I have gotten in the past with other Vitamin B3 supplements. (That’s always a plus. If you have ever had a Niacin rush, it’s a very odd feeling that I don’t care for at all.)  I felt a difference the first day, but blew it off to the placebo effect.  (Yes, always the critic here.) But after a few days, I definitely noticed a little more spark in my life. I was no longer hitting that afternoon lull after lunch. Overall, yes, I will definitely continue to use this product!

Before I end, I want to note two things.  First, Tru Niagen supplements cost a little more than other brands, but I was recently reminded by my doctor to purchase quality vitamins, with the finest ingredients.  Second, give it a few days (or even weeks) as an 8-week period is recommended to significantly increase your levels of NAD⁺. Let me know if you try the supplement and what you think!
