When my children were younger, we used to go to Cape May for breakfast often. However, it's been a few years so we decided to head back for my daughter's 13th birthday.
We arrived at 10:15 am for our 10:45 am reservation. The staff at the desk took my cell phone number, and sent us a text message when our table was ready (around 10:40 am).
A variety of drinks are included in the buffet price (juice, hot tea, milk, coffee, etc). Adult beverages (like mimosas) and espresso coffee drinks are available for an additional price.
The buffet is plentiful. There is a variety of chilled fruits, breakfast pastries, cheddar grits, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, breakfast meats, french toast, biscuits, frittas, asparagus with hollandaise sauce ...I could go on and on, but you get the picture!
Mickey Waffles are always a hit with my kids!
A new edition is the omelette bar!
(In the past there was a crepes station but that is no longer available.)
Just like other character breakfasts on Disney property, the characters make the rounds while you enjoy your meal. Cape May Cafe currently has Goofy, Daisy, Donald and Minnie. (Mickey Mouse does not attend this breakfast). The characters are decked out in beach attire.
I love that I never feel rushed as the breakfast.
The characters actually came by our table twice!
Hint: I always try to make a "later" breakfast reservation (like 10:30am or 10:45am) as most people are in the parks by that time, and the restaurant is not as busy.
My daughter received a special birthday cupcake and card from our wait staff.
It was a wonderful morning that my family will not forget anytime soon!
